PPR

Pilots operating jet aircraft and aircraft between 12,500 lbs and 60000lbs must obtain PPR (prior permission required) from the airport operator Alpha Aviation Inc 604-946-5361. In order to encourage the highest possible safety awareness we will email or fax this PPR authorization notifying pilots that there is:

  1. Increased bird activity during the “dawn and dusk times”, and at various times of the year there are transient and migratory birds including eagles and Canada Geese. The airport has a monitoring and wildlife control program in place. Note: We will not approve or authorise a PPR for aircraft arriving or departing:

less than 30 minutes before sunrise and less than 30 minutes after sunrise, or
less than 30 minutes before sunset and less than 30 minutes after sunset.

  2. Noise Sensitive Area is to the North-West of the airport in the populated areas (Ladner).

  3. Pilots should also be aware that Delta Air Park is located 2.5nm to the East. All procedures are outlined in the Canadian Flight Supplement which can be ordered from Nav Canada.

Noise Sensitive Areas

The Boundary Bay Airport and the Corporation of Delta remind all pilots to please adhere to all published noise abatement procedures. Ladner, Tsawwassen and White Rock urban areas are particularly noise sensitive and pilots should try to avoid overflying these areas wherever possible.

Pilots should avoid flying in noise sensitive areas unless they are unable due to crosswind limitations or other safety considerations or as directed by ATC. Pilots departing runway 25 turn crosswind as required to remain east of the Railway Tracks or arriving runway 07, turn base east of noise sensitive area.

We have received a number of complaints asking why pilots must fly over these areas. The best way to respond to these complaints is to avoid these increasingly noise sensitive communities if at all possible (shown in Red below).

RESTRICTIONS

No circuits Rwy 07/25 23–07 local. No departure from taxiway B.

For all helicopter pilots – It is the policy at Boundary Bay Airport and of Alpha Aviation Inc. that all helicopters must not over-fly or maneuver at less than 30 feet above and 90 feet horizontally from the fuel vehicles and equipment. Hovering over the fuel vehicles will not be permitted under any circumstances.
