Alpha Aviation and The Corporation of Delta, together again, hosted the 2nd Annual Air Show at the Boundary Bay Airport on July 15th. The day was a big success with over 3,000 spectators enjoying spectacular air performances. Acting Mayor Robert Campbell and Chief Administrative Officer George Harvie, along with Alpha Aviation Chair Fred Kaiser, and President Sandra Stoddart-Hansen, opened the days event with words of congratulation for the airport improvements made over the last year, support for the ongoing projects and a warm welcome to everyone who came out to enjoy the afternoon. The airport is fortunate to be home to many unique aircraft and highly skilled pilots who participated in the show. A wide variety of old and new aircraft took to the skies above the airport on Saturday giving spectators a thrilling visual display. The air show also included a static area displaying a number of interesting aircraft, and children of all ages were able to enjoy crafts, face painting, the Delta Fire Department’s Junior Combat Challenge course, and mini golf. The Air Cadets did a great job of raffling off tickets for two big prizes – rides in two of the aircraft participating in the air show! Thank you to all the participants and volunteers who helped to make this show such a success. Delta Fire Department Training at Boundary Bay Airport

Boundary Bay Airport Master Plan
In December 2004, Alpha Aviation took over the operation of the Boundary Bay Airport and embarked on a planning process to guide the redevelopment of the airport.
The role that has been defined for Boundary Bay is that it will continue to develop as a general aviation airport including the expansion of services and facilities for general aviation traffic. The airport will also begin to serve the people of Delta and the region south of the Fraser as a terminal for regional transportation services. The airport will begin to play a role in providing capacity for corporate aviation and will be ready in 2010 to welcome the corporate traveller on their visit to enjoy the Winter Olympic Games.

If you're an Air Cadet in the 828 Hurricane Squadron, you were at the Boundary Bay Airport helping with a massive clean up effort in the long term parking area of the airport. The 21 cadets and their leaders pitched in with Alpha Aviation staff and managed to fill a large dumpster with discarded items from around the airport. The cadets were able to recover some copper and aluminum which they sell for scrap to raise money for their air cadet activities. Fortunately for the cadets, two Griffon Helicopters were nearby filming a recruitment ad for National Defense. When they arrived for refueling,
the crew graciously showed the cadets around the aircraft -- a perfect ending for the day's work.
