News & EventsBoundary Bay Airshow 2010 – Saturday, June 19th With its rich history in aviation, the Boundary Bay Airport first opened during the Second World War as a training centre for Air Force Pilots. Today, it still remains a thriving centre for general aviation, domestic and international flight training and proudly stands as Canada’s fifth busiest airport for aircraft movement. At this year’s show we will feature the addition of our newly opened 15,000 square foot Boundary Bay Airport Terminal Building ready to welcome international corporate and regional jet traffic. This year’s theme, “Canada Remembers…” is a very special opportunity for you to show your support in recognition of the important role that our Canadian Forces perform. This year’s show is dedicated to our past and present Forces who bravely serve and have served our country and the enormous sacrifice they make every day. Everyone attending this year’s Airshow is asked to participate in the largest letter writing campaign to our Troops by “Sending a message to our Forces from home”… Airshow Gates open at 12:00 with flying starting at 13:00 until approx 16:30. Exciting static displays and aerobatic performances are sure to please aviation enthusiasts as well as those who just want a fun filled afternoon at the beautiful Boundary Bay Airport. This event is free for the whole family! Food concessions and children’s activity area on site. Bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen and hat and get ready for take-off! Please…leave dogs at home. The Boundary Bay Airport is located at 7800 Alpha Way. From Ladner Trunk Road turn onto either 72nd or 80th Street to Churchill.
